The Austin/Travis County Health and Human Services Department (HHSD) promotes and protects a healthy community through the use of best practices and community partnerships.

Various public health programs and services are offered:

• neighborhood-based programs, including Neighborhood and WIC Centers;
• public health services including maternal and child health, STD and TB clinics;
• birth and death certificates;
• epidemiology;
• consumer health services including restaurant inspections and food handler registration and administrative programs, including grants administration.
