The Public Health Clinics work to protect individuals and the community from the spread and complication of disease, and are committed to providing quality health information, education and services.

Licensed personnel, under the direction of the Public Health Officer, provide services in a timely, confidential, and customer-friendly atmosphere.

Most services are covered by Medi-Cal and sliding fees are available.

Family Planning / Birth ControlFamily planning staff assists in reducing the incidence of maternal and infant morbidity and mortality by promoting education and encouragement for responsible parenthood.

Physical exams, lab work, pregnancy testing, contraceptives, immunizations, health education and treatment are among the covered services.

The Family PACT (Planning Access to Contraceptives and Treatment) Program covers charges for low-income women and men.


Breast Cancer Early Detection

  • This state program pays for annual breast cancer screening exams and/or mammograms for low-income women 40 and older.

Immunizations

  • Immunizations for adults and children are available by appointment.
  • Current state and federal immunization recommendations for newborns, immigration, travel and school entry are administered under the direction of the Health Officer.

Tuberculosis (TB)

  • TestingLow-cost TB testing and clearance to meet school and employment requirements.

Pre-Employment Physical Exams / Drug & Alcohol

  • TestingPhysical exams and Drug Testing can be provided by contract with employers.
  • Immunizations and lab testing may be included in the reimbursement agreement.


Communicable Disease ScreeningTesting, counseling, and treatment guidance are available to help with many infectious diseases including chlamydia, gonorrhea, HIV, Hepatitis, and others. Fluoride VarnishFluoride varnish is a new and exciting way to help protect children's teeth against tooth decay.

Works best when applied at least 2 to 3 times a year.

Now offered at the Chico clinic.
